The Université Paris-Saclay, by offering the IDEX scholarships, has set a goal to enhance the accessibility of its master’s programs, which are nationally-certified degrees, to international students. These programs are taught within its member establishments. Moreover, the university aims to facilitate the enrollment of highly-qualified foreign students, particularly those who aspire to pursue academic projects involving research up to the doctoral level.

The scholarship provided by Université Paris-Saclay amounts to €10,000 per year. This sum is disbursed by the university for the entirety of the academic year, spanning no less than 10 consecutive months from September to June. Additionally, depending on the candidate’s country of origin, a maximum of €1,000 is allocated to cover travel and visa expenses.
These scholarships are granted for either 1 or 2 years, contingent upon the admission level (M1 or M2) of the student. However, continuation of the scholarship into the subsequent year is subject to students fulfilling the requisite number of credits necessary to progress to the next level of study.

Students who have been admitted to a Master’s program at Université Paris-Saclay must be enrolled in one of the following member institutions: AgroParisTech, CentraleSupelec, ENS Paris-Saclay, INSTN-CEA, IOGS, UEVE, UPSaclay, or UVSQ. Among these students, only those who meet certain criteria are eligible to apply for the scholarship:
- Newly arrived international students who are aged 30 years old or younger during the selection year.
- Students of foreign nationality who have been living in France for less than a year, and who were previously or are currently enrolled in a training course or internship that does not result in certification.
- Students of foreign nationality who have been living in France for less than a year, and who are currently taking language classes (type FFL).
- Students who have resided in France in the past as part of a mobility program during their studies (such as Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Degrees or exchange programs) that did not lead to certification.
Are ineligible:
• All students who have been or are currently enrolled in a French higher education institution during their studies are ineligible for the scholarship, except for international students who are enrolled in a French higher education institution abroad.
• Individuals who have interrupted their studies for more than 3 consecutive years are also ineligible.
• Students holding any other type of scholarship whose amount exceeds €650 per month are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.
Application instructions:
To be considered for the scholarships, students must first gain admission to a Master’s Program offered at Université Paris-Saclay. Simply being admitted into a master’s program of the University does not automatically guarantee receipt of a scholarship.
Selected students will receive an email containing a link to an online application form. Only those who receive an email invitation from Université Paris-Saclay inviting them to apply for a Université Paris-Saclay IDEX scholarship will be eligible to submit an application. Unsolicited applications will not be accepted.
The deadline for applying to a Master’s Program, to be considered for selection, is April 30, 2024. The deadline for submitting scholarship applications is May 3, 2024.
