At a 14 October 2022 emergency meeting of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Jacob S. Oboreh, with the Management and Deans of Faculties, the disastrous effect of flood on Campus was discussed. The impact was huge, and student safety was prioritized on the agenda.

As a result, it was agreed that the University would be closed for two (2) weeks beginning immediately. That is Friday, October 14, 2022. Students are expected to return on Sunday, October 30, 2022, with lectures/Continous Assessment tests beginning on Monday, November 1, 2022.
Students in residence halls who desire to remain on campus must register with the Ag. Dean of Students to ensure proper monitoring while the flood continues.

Please keep in mind that all personnel (academic and non-teaching) are expected to report for duty.
During the break, security guards and other important duty personnel must be on the ground to carry out their assigned duties effectively.
Finally, personnel must take necessary precautions to protect University property(ies) in their particular offices against flood damage.
