Scholarship value/inclusions/duration:
The scholarships provide monthly payments of 934 euros for graduates and 1,300 euros for doctoral candidates. They also cover health, accident, and personal liability insurance, as well as a travel allowance, unless these costs are already covered by the home country or another funding source.
For Master’s programs, the scholarship lasts 12 to 24 months, depending on the institution. For PhD studies, it covers 42 months.

The typical scholarship recipient:
• Currently works for a public authority, state, or private company in a developing country, focusing on development policies related to technology, economics, or social issues.
• Holds a Bachelor’s degree (usually four years) in a related field.
• Achieved exceptionally good academic results (in the top third) and has at least two years of relevant work experience after completing their bachelor’s degree at the time of applying.
• Their academic qualifications should generally not be more than six years old.
• For programs taught in German (which include a 6-month German language course): Must pass either the DSH 2 or TestDaF 4 language exam before starting the program. Therefore, a minimum German language level of B1 at the time of application is required, proven by providing a certificate.
• For programs taught in English: Must show sufficient language proficiency as per the requirements of the respective programs.
