The University Twente Scholarships (UTS) provide financial support ranging from €3,000 to €22,000 for one year. Eligibility:

To be eligible for a University Twente Scholarship (UTS), candidates must meet all of the following requirements:

• Application Process: Applying for a UTS is a separate procedure from applying for admission to a course at the University of Twente. Regardless of funding, applicants need to obtain an admission letter first.

• Admission: Applicants must have been (provisionally) admitted to one of the qualifying UT Master’s programs starting in the academic year 2024/2025 (September). Please note that it may take up to 8 weeks after completing the application to receive the results.

• Student Number: Applicants must have a student number.

• Previous Graduation: Applicants must not have graduated from a University of Twente graduate program.

• Visa Requirements: Applicants must comply with the conditions for obtaining an entry visa in the Netherlands, if applicable.

• English Language Proficiency: Applicants must meet the general English language test requirement of Academic IELTS 6.5 (or TOEFL iBT of 90) and an additional 6.0 (TOEFL iBT 20) on the subscore of speaking skills.

• Dutch Study Loan: Applicants must not be eligible for a Dutch study loan.

• Academic Excellence: The University Twente Scholarship is awarded to excellent students, typically belonging to the top 5 to 10 percent of their class.

Application instructions:

To apply for a University Twente Scholarship (UTS), you must first apply for a Master’s program. Once you’ve applied and received a (conditional) admission letter, you can then proceed to apply for the scholarship using your student number.

The application process for the scholarship has two rounds:

  • Round 1 applications open on October 15, 2023, with a deadline of February 1, 2024.
  • Round 2 applications open on February 1, 2024, with a deadline of May 1, 2024.
